The TK TYPE 1 Foundation would like to cordially invite you to attend our 5th Annual Golf Classic!

After weeks of symptoms without understanding why, Kaylee at the age of just 4, was hospitalized and battling to reduce her dangerously high blood sugar levels. On the morning of August 27th, 2019, Kaylee was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). This was the day T1D affected at least one family for the rest of their lives.

As a result, in 2021 TK.Type 1 (formerly The TKJD Foundation) was founded to honor Kaylee by helping individuals, like her, that battle T1D. TKT1's very existence is to help families, like ours, to reduce the impact T1D has mentally and physically. Upon diagnosis, T1D families feel a sense of hopelessness and fear of not knowing what is to come. The small everyday events that we take for granted, such as uninterrupted sleep and a quick meal on the run, are challenges faced by families with Type 1. A sleepover at grandma’s house, popcorn at the movies, or an ice cream sundae are some of life’s treats that are afforded to those with T1D only when they have proper care and education.

TK.Type 1 strives to bring together Type 1 Diabetic families and the proper resources required in order to help these families thrive with their T1D.

Wheatley Hills Golf Club was incorporated in 1913 and established on the old Titus farm in East Williston, NY. Its founding members commissioned renowned golf course architect Devereux Emmet to design and build an 18-hole golf links.
